Commitment to DIVERSITY
Harris Barber College
Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
Harris Barber College (HBC) opened its doors in 1930 as a Christian-based institution serving a predominantly black male population of students from Raleigh, North Carolina. We take great pride in the diversification of our student population and are proud to embrace individuals from around the globe who have different races, ethnicities, ages, faiths, genders, learning preferences, education backgrounds, socioeconomic backgrounds, and more. Our students come with varying levels of barbering talent -- ranging from those who have been working in barber shops across the world that did not require a license to those who have rarely, if ever, picked up a pair of clippers. Anyone who is committed to becoming a barber and willing to exert the time and effort to do so has been successful and achieved their professional goals within our walls here at HBC. We have a strong and growing legacy of successful barbers and entrepreneurs who began their professional journey with us.
